If you would like to give a donation to Haiti relief efforts, you may send in a check to the church and we will donate the money to the appropriate relief agencies.  Simply make out the check to UJCC and put HAITI RELIEF OFFERING in the Memo section of the check and send it in or put it in the offering plate during worship.  Likewise, you can go online to UCC.org and click on the box marked "donations."  You can make a donation on behalf of UJCC on that page.  You can also donate through UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee On Relief which has a field office established in Haiti.  100% of your donation to UMCOR will go toward relief efforts and none toward administrative costs.  Click here to donate to UMCOR. Hope for Haiti Project
The UJCC high school youth are sending health kits to Haiti through UMCOR.  Their goal is to assemble 50 kits on Sunday, February 14.  If you would like to help in their efforts, you can donate kit contents to the youth group for this project.  The following items make up each health kit:

  • One gallon plastic bag
  • 1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27", no kitchen towels)
  • 1 washcloth
  • 1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
  • 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail clippers)
  • 1 bath-size bar of soap (3oz. and up)
  • 1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper, no child-size brushes)
  • 6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages

Please include $1 for each kit toward the purchase of toothpaste.

All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them useable in the greatest number of situations.  Since strict rules often govern product entry into international countries, it is important that kits contain only the requested items - nothing more.  Thank you for your help in this project!
