UJCC Sunday House Worship Service
August 23, 2020 * 12th Sunday After Pentecost / VBS Sunday

Blessings to you this holy Sabbath day! You are invited to use the following prayers & order of worship as we lift our hearts to God together from our respective homes!
Call To Worship
Leader: As we gather together to worship, let us remember the words of Scripture:
All: Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.
Leader: Jesus sent his disciples out two by two and gave them authority over evil spirits.
All: For with two, if you fall, someone is there to help you up.
Leader: Jesus says, “Where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”
All: Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm.
Leader: Every day the believers continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.
All: Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
Leader: Let us consider how we may spur each other on toward love and good deeds.
All: A threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Leader: So let us not give up meeting together, but let us encourage one another.
All: Let us worship God together. (jh)

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
