UJCC Sunday House Worship Service

November 1, 2020 * 22nd Sunday After Pentecost

Blessings to you this holy Sabbath day! You are invited to use the following prayers & order of worship as we lift our hearts to God together from our respective homes!

Call To Worship

Leader: Lord, help us welcome you and all who come in your name.

All: Give us a deep love for your living word

and for all our brothers and sisters.

Leader: Help us to avoid slander and deceit in all our dealings.

All: Guide us, O God, by the law given by your Spirit

that our way may be blameless and pure.

Leader: Help us always seek to please you

rather than the favor of others.

All: Make us gentle and compassionate, humble and forgiving,

just and holy in all our relationships.

Leader: Help us be like Christ in whom we believe.

Help us to meditate on his word and his example day and night.

All: Lord, help us not only share the good news of your love

with all we meet, but also to share our very selves

Leader: Thanks be to you, O Lord, for the word you put upon our hearts,

All: Praise be to you, O God,

for the spirit which brings it to life in us. Amen. (rf)

I Thessalonians 2:9-13

9You remember our labor and toil, brothers and sisters; we worked night and day, so that we might not burden any of you while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. 10You are witnesses, and God also, how pure, upright, and blameless our conduct was toward you believers. 11As you know, we dealt with each one of you like a father with his children, 12urging and encouraging you and pleading that you lead a life worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory.

13We also constantly give thanks to God for this, that when you received the word of God that you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word but as what it really is, God’s word, which is also at work in you believers.
